Your hearts beating faster and faster every second. Your heart is racing 50 miles ahead of you, in your mind your calling yourself an idiot. Finally, you lift your foot and start peddling. The wheels on your skateboard going faster and faster. Gaining speed, your body is getting closer and closer to the stair case up ahead of you. The small crowd of kids are cheering you on. Others, sneering. You prepare your feet for the position they need to be in. You prepare your body for the pain you might be in. Your prepare your brain for the impact you know might happen. Finally, you pop that tail and flick your foot out. The board slowly flips, as the board comes around, you try to grab it for a grind on the square rectangle of concrete connecting to the stairs. You miss and you fall down the stairs. Your come to a complete stop after hitting everything in your body down those steps. Should've worn a helmet, you keep thinking. You don't know if you really are dead or not. All you know, is that the pain hurts to much, all.....to.......much.
Five years later your working construction(nothing wrong with that) But your finding that you are having trouble walking, and the people that own this business barely took you in for work. All the money you had, went into that accident at the stairs.
This is their story, and why skateboarding is really a choice. And that choice is to
SKATE OR DIE?
I was skateboarding in front of my house, when this guy working on construction for a new house asked me what kinda board I had. I, not wanting to be rude, said enjoi. He said, "Yeah, that's a good brand. I used to have some sorta old school board, with a panda with a knife on it. I think it might have been enjoi but i'm not quite sure. It was so long ago..." I looked at him and i asked "What do ya mean? You hurt yourself?" HE looked back and replied "Yeah, came up to heelflip and waked my shin so hard. Everytime I tried to skate afterward, just wasn't the same." I nodded and we slipped away knowing the conversation was over. It's funny, you have such high hopes for stuff like this and realize when you hear this that, you can get hurt twice as bad as that guy. Or maybe You are that guy that hurt yourself. This was a personal experience, but to keep this alive ill probably be looking for articles on stuff like this. It's so interesting.
Anyways,
I'm out
Remember the question is
Skate or Die?
