I am the greatest sales person in the world. I am number one and will always be number one as I believe in my abilities to sell and connect with people. I am confident and know my product. I love what I do as I get to meet people all day long and educate them on what I have to offer and what it will do for them. I do not mind a no as I know I am only so many no’s away from a yes. You will not discourage me as I have the ability to achieve. Tell me no and I will try harder in other ways. Tell me you like me and my product and I will keep coming back for more. I am a sales person and I am the best!
How to be a top salesperson starts with your mind set. When I say I am the best, I do not need to broadcast that with words, nor do I generally. I play that inside of my head daily. I believe in that for me and then I show it by my actions. I do not fool myself as I really do believe that I am the best and no one can do it better. It is my mindset and because of it I know I have to work hard and smart so I stay on top. Being a top salesperson is not easy and you must realize that you compete with no one but yourself. Competing with other salespersons can be a bad thing if they are not up to the challenge. Beating a lesser opponent is not helpful to you. You compete with only the best and that is you. Start with programming your mind and it will help guide you. For instance, what would the best do? When you start asking yourself questions like this and find the answers then you will continually rise to the top and stay on top.
Get good at reading and understanding customers. What you need to know is that people who sell are not as trusted as those who educate and try and help. I always use the point of view I am here to help. I do not use those words. I use it as a guide and I look for ways to help." Sir, what is the biggest problem you have in getting this project complete?" When I get an answer, I then try and match up with what I can provide to help him/her. If I sell something that does my customers no good, then they will not keep coming back for more.
Sell yourself to the customer. I do not care if you are the owner or a salesperson only, sell yourself. People trust people and do not necessarily trust companies. They fell more connected to an individual than some name of a company. Personalize what you do and they will keep coming back for more.
I do not want to sound like a bad cliché but you should never take no for an answer. I do not let a no bother me. I know by my past experiences that it takes several rejections to get an acceptance. They tell you no, but what they may mean is no right now. Keep on pushing through and you will be shocked when they say yes. It will happen trust me as I have lived it thousands of times.
Lastly, do not high pressure your client. It does not work for long term sales and growth. Remember we are trying to be a top salesperson and having customers leave after a short stay is too much work. What you want is constant low pressure. Just keep touching them in little ways constantly. Keep your name in their head so they will not forget you. If you use high pressure and they realize it and get buyer’s remorse, you will be done. Do not go for the quick buck. Think long term dollars instead of to be a top salesperson

Robert is a good teacher in this area. I have worked for him for 3-4 years and he has helped me become a better salesman. The biggest tool for me was to educate your clients.
